The Venice pigeons moving their wings above beautiful sights on the St. Marcus square. You can hear music sounds on the streets and smell of Italian donuts. On the waterfront houses lands first morning sun. Wonderful historic city on the lagoon just comes alive and pulls to the colorful whirl thousands of participants and tourists.It's the end of January and in Venice begins carnival of the beautiful and mysterious masks.

At least once in your life

We believe that everyone should experience once in their lifetime festive masquerade in Venice. With bated breath to watch the colorful masks. Columbines will transfer you to the Italian theater. You will seize awe when looking at a mask resembling the symbol of death. Some make you laugh.

Venetian Carnival begins 23 January and ends on 9 February. Not much time left. You have the last days to prepare the route plan to the north of Italy.

You can travel to Venice on your own or with a travel agency. If you decide to travel by car - make in time your hotel booking and parking.

Transfer with us to Venice

Unfortunately we can not transfer Venetian Carnival to Prague. But at least we can move taste of funny and fragrant Venice to our healthy Italian restaurant GamberoRosso. Try the Italian donuts

At home you can pamper by Italian donuts which after the carnival pleasures will tickle your taste buds. Italians call them Frittelle Veneziane.

Skip the recipe if you indulge your body with a healthy food and being treated after a Christmas feasting. We will better invite you to visit us and eat something healthy.

If you do not have troubles with a slim line and feel for a slightly sin, try the recipe for Venetian minidonuts.

For a sweet tooth prepare:

  • 25 g yeast
  • 300 g flour
  • 1/4 l milk
  • 100 g grit sugar
  • 3 egg
  • 50 g butter
  • 70 g raisins
  • 30 g pine nuts
  • lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons brandy or rum
  • salt
  • sesame oil for frying

Dissolve yeast in warm milk. Heat the butter in a pan.

Pour sugar into a large bowl, then add to the egg. Mix together thoroughly.

Add the melted butter, yeast and milk, raisins, pine nuts, lemon zest and rum. Of all the goodies knead smooth dough.

Add the flour and a pinch of salt. Process and then let rest an hour. Dough twice rise.

Shape the dough into small balls. Into a deep pan with hot oil throw balls one after the other. Fry Frittelli until golden.

Remove excess oil and toss in sugar.

Now only slowly insert into his mouth. Do you feel the delicious taste of donuts that melt on your tongue?
